Hacker Guide to Silly Hacks

Things to do before Silly Hacks starts

  • Make sure you have filled the registration form. The Registrations are up till Silly Hacks starts on 18th September, but be sure to sign up early to not miss our pre-hackathon activities.
  • Eligibility:

    • This event is open to hackers, all over the world, who are students at the time of the hackathon or who have graduated within the last 12 months. Students can include university undergraduate or postgraduate students, and people who are in vocational training such as apprenticeships. The minimum age requirement for the students is 18 years.
    • As per our Code of Conduct, there is no discrimination on the basis of race, religion, national origin, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, social class, economic status, veteran status, disability, or age.
  • Join our Discord to communicate with our Sponsors, Mentors, Speakers, other Hackers and us. We will also be hosting many pre-hackathon events on our Discord.
  • Register yourself as a participant at our Devpost page.
  • Read Rules from our Rules page.
  • Read Code of Conduct.
  • Join in for our weekly workshops!

On-Day Information

  • Be sure to check the Schedule and be active on our discord for latest updates!
  • Submission Requirements:

    • You must submit a 2-minute (max) video demo! Mention the services by our sponsors you used and the MLH tracks you are applying for in the introduction of the video.
    • The video should demonstrate your project and not be a presentation or pitch.
    • The project should be entirely built during the hackathon hours.
    • You must link to a public code repository for your project.
    • If any team fails to meet any requirements mentioned above, they will not be eligible for the prizes.
  • Prizes:

    • Please refer to our Devpost page: https://sillyhacks.devpost.com/ for the prizes. The prizes are opt-in and should be applied for, as applicable, during the submission process.
